NSERC 2018 Undergraduate Student Research Awards - Deadline February 19th

OVPRI is pleased to announce the launch of the 2018 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards Competition.

This is a 2 stage application process:

  • Student/Supervisor Departmental Deadline: February 19th, 4pm
  • Department Application Ranking Deadline (to OVPRI): March 2nd, 2018

OVPRI will be hosting an informal information session on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 from 12pm-1pm (Location: 1 Dundas St West - OVPRI - YDI 11th Floor - Room 1134).

Applications are submitted through your designated supervisor's department/school.
Individual student applications are not to be submitted to (and will not be accepted by) OVPRI.

Student eligibility: You must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada, be registered at the time of application in a Bachelor's degree program at an eligible university; have obtained over the previous years of study a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5; have completed all of the course requirements of at least the first year of university study (2 academic terms) of your bachelor's degree; be engaged on a full-time basis in research and development activities in natural sciences or engineering during the tenure of the award.

Supervisor eligibility: You must hold an active NSERC research grant (e.g. Discovery, Strategic, Research Partnership grant) during the time your student holds the award (May-Sept 2018).

Tenure of the USRA: Between May - September 2018 for a period of 16 weeks, full-time (Monday through Friday).
